The best smartphone is one that balances availability, being budget friendly and can be modified to fit the needs of your loved one. Android-based smartphones fit the bill. I took my parents to a local mobile phone retailer to find a smartphone that fits their liking. I showed them devices with good build quality so it will be durable in case of a drop. They held a few to make sure it felt nice in their hand. Remember it shouldn't be too large where it can't be operated except with two hands and it shouldn't be too small where the screen contents are hard to read. Double check the quality of the display is bright and easily visible. Once we purchased their phone it was time to modify it so it worked well for their needs.
